Making an Appointment

Important Information

Before making a private appointment please do try to ensure that you have obtained the following:

1. approval from your General Practitioner
2. a letter of referral - which will provide us with potentially important background information which may ultimately save time, reduce unnecessary tests and reduce the likelihood of you encountering difficulties reclaiming the cost of the consultation and any subsequent tests from your insurer.
3. pre-authorisation from your Private Medical Insurer (if applicable)
4. a copy of our terms & conditions and our schedule of fees/charges and if possible a copy of our patient registration form.

Outpatient Appointments

Dr Lubel sees Private Patients in consulting rooms at the The Clementine Churchill Hospital on a Thursday afternoon. Other times may be possible by arrangement.

The best way of booking an appointment is to call the Clementine Churchill Hospital on: 020 8872 3872. Alternatively contact Dr Lubel's secretary, Caroline McCabe, on 020 7112 0234.

Domiciliary Visits

To arrange a private domiciliary (home) assessment, please send us the referral letter (with relevant contact information) by post, fax (020 8181 4619) or email ( or if more urgent then call Caroline McCabe on 020 7112 0234 to discuss.

NHS Appointments

Dr Lubel holds an NHS clinic for both general medical and elderly patients at Northwick Park Hospital once a week on a Thursday morning. The waiting time for an appointment is usually within four weeks (quicker for more urgent appointments).

A dedicated Falls Clinic is held once a month in conjunction with a falls therapist. Waiting time for these appointments runs into several months.

Referrals must be made by the patient's General Practitioner (the letter must be addressed to Dr Lubel by name) or the "Choose and Book" system can be used to make appointments for this clinic.

Most patients will be passed back to the GP (i.e. discharged from the clinic) after between one and three attendances (private patients are managed similarly).

Please note that patients who are initially seen as a private patient cannot be automatically transferred for follow-up to the NHS clinic and a fresh NHS referral would subsequently need to be made by the GP.

Dr Lubel no longer carries out NHS domiciliary visits.
